- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆We were looking for a good pizzeria on Yelp and Farina came up. We took the Sky Train and walked a few blocks and here we were. It's not in the centre of the city but it's just at the beginning of Vancouver Chinatown. The place is really small, but nicely furnished, however I recommend you to not eat in. Only now I understand why most people just call for order and come to pick it up. There's really no point in waiting in the place itself since it takes a while and you're only adding to the crowd that's already there. The table is also hard to get, so don't bother. They have quite some pizzas on the menu and one special, that changes daily (or so I gathered). We ordered two of them (Funghi and Daily Special) and paid around $40 (not all that cheap). The waiting was long (30min+), but luckily a new bar opened just next door and we went over there for drinks (the owner said they're gonna start selling their pizzas as well once it all settles). They don't take your number if you come in and order, neither do they give you one of those tiny devices that would blink when you're order is done, so it's on you to guess when you're pizza is gonna be done. I really don't like this about them - a pizza can be done sooner or later so, please be courteous and call the customers - it's good customer service! I did come back in the agreed time, but nobody signalled whether the pizza was done or not, so I waited (also due to the long line in front of me - out through the door). Once I managed to get to the counter, I asked about my pizza. It was standing there for 15 minutes already. :| The pizza itself was good. The crust was thin and crunchy, the toppings were good and plentiful. One pizza is a big deal for one person, in my opinion, you'll be stuffed, so maybe it's good to share if you're not used to such big pizzas. Next time, if we come to Vancouver again, we're calling up front and picking up later. I'm not gonna bother waiting again. And yes, despite the disappointment with the waiting/picking up (that's my only beef with them), it is good enough to make another trip to their place.By Lea Slavic, January 17, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆I used to love this place. My only complaint is the size would shrink.By MattFarrell Nair-Farrell, January 08, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Amazing authentic Italian pizzeria! It looks like a hole in the wall, but that's where all the treasures hide. Freshly made pizza dough every day, and when they run out they close up shop, so get there earlier rather than later. Best pizza in Vancouver!By Natty Gann, December 27, 2016
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Pizzeria Farina is probably the best Pizza place in Vancouver. Period. No alternative facts required! A great combination of a charming little space with quaint decoration (look at that bicycle on the wall!) The pizzas are nothing short of spectacular, so good I can't ever get a picture of them when I go because I am too eager to start eating them! A few minor quibbles which don't hurt it's 5 star rating; the prices are a *bit* steep, for a date night you could probably get away with one pizza if you aren't very hungry, but let's face it your going to be getting 2 and that's going to be costing you around $40. The other complaint is that they're "only open until the dough runs out" so if it's a busy day (like a Friday) you should plan to be there by 730 at the latest as I have seen the dough run out by 8! Other than that I strongly recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza!By J Pd, October 18, 2016
